XCEL Mechanical Systems

Xcel Mechanical Systems is seeking a full-time Estimator to assist in the pursuit of large and complex HVAC and Plumbing construction projects. Project Estimators prepare and submit competitive bids for new projects across our company’s Aerospace, Education, Entertainment, Hospitals and Transportation markets. The ideal candidate has experience or interest in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare project estimates and proposals for commercial HVAC and/or Plumbing projects
• Thorough review of project-scope documentation
• Attend scheduled job walks. Ask project-related questions.
• Complete material take-offs, collect equipment and subcontractor pricing, prepare estimates
• Communicate with external and internal project partners
• Hit key milestones and submission deadlines. Help win new projects.

 Desired Experience:

• Demonstrated experience or interest in Construction Management or Mechanical Engineering
• HVAC and/or Plumbing project estimation experience preferred
• Familiarity with digital project-estimation platforms preferred
• QuickPen experience preferred, but not required
• Proficient with Microsoft Office productivity tools including Outlook/Word/Excel
