Xcel Mechanical Systems actively collaborates with local organizations and workforce training programs to help reduce the barriers that impede local workers from disadvantaged backgrounds from finding employment opportunities on company construction projects.
Xcel Mechanical gives Field Team hiring priority to trade applicants who have completed the HireLAX Apprenticeship Readiness Program or similar (MC3) preparatory programs on the way to joining their respective trade unions. These new Sheet Metal, Mechanical Piping, and/ or Plumbing Apprentices move through a thorough onboarding process that includes specific jobsite orientations, construction safety rules, regulations and best practices, and relevant daily job requirements. New Apprentices will be assessed on their performance, skill growth, and capacity to contribute to our project teams. New Apprentices will benefit from regular feedback sessions as they progress and improve. Apprentices who excel will be retained through their Apprenticeship, and beyond.
