Xcel Mechanical Participates in Safety Stand-Down at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center

CEDARS-SINAI MEDICAL CENTER — Xcel Mechanical Systems recently paused work at its bustling Cedars-Sinai Medical Center jobsite to participate in a Safety Stand-Down, following a nationwide initiative led by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) to raise awareness about fall prevention and workplace safety.

During the event, project leaders and crew members gathered to review jobsite hazards, reinforce fall protection procedures and discuss ways to strengthen communication about safety concerns at one of the nation’s top hospitals.

For eight consecutive years, Cedars-Sinai has earned the highest distinction—5 stars—from the federal Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services for the quality and safety of care, placing the institution among the best hospitals in the country.

Xcel Mechanical is a preferred vendor at the prestigious medical center and has been performing complex HVAC and plumbing renovations and expansions in the acute care facility for more than a decade.

The Stand-Down event emphasized OSHA’s core message: every fall can be prevented through proper planning, equipment and training.
